Ketupat is rice wrapped in palm leaf and it also is one of the popular food in Indonesia. Usually, many people eat ketupat when they celebrated lebaran day and Idul Adha. Actually, ketupat is not only popular in Indonesia, but also in many countries such as Malaisya, Brunei, Singapore, and Philipines. Ketupat will has better taste if we combine with the other foods. Ketupat is usually eaten with opor, rendang (a type of dry beef), sambal goreng (type of delicacy made from chilies that combine with shallot, garlic, and coconut milk), and usually goes with satay.
In history, Sunan Kalijaga is the first people who introduced ketupat to society. He introduced ketupat to many people in java. He educate Bakda Lebaran to become culture in java. And then now ketupat has already popular.
How to make Ketupat?
First wash hulled rice until really clean. Then immerse the hulled rice in water until 3 hours.
After 3 hours, put it into ketupat’s wrapper.
Then, boil the water that we will use to boil ketupat. After that, put ketupat into the water, and boil it until 4 hours.
And then ketupat has already done and you can serve it with any other foods such as opor, rendang, and many more.
